Dates part 2

I have sent the form off to the church (St Thom's in Crookes) with two possible dates on it. The nice wedding organiser lady is going to talk to various ministers (there are about seven I think) and get back to us when they know who is available. Then I think that we have to go and meet the minister and have a chat with them about all the details etc.

We are still having huge problems with trying to book a reception venue. The university and the union have both been really really unhelpful and said we can't book anything till closer to the time.

In the mean time we are trying to find a large hall in Crookes somewhere as a back up plan. I am going to try to contact St Timothy's, Crookes working mens club and Kieron suggested St Johns but I am not sure where that is. Any other suggestions will be welcomed.

Dates

Hi

well due to two of my bridesmaids having GCSE's, a couple of the wedding dates have been discounted. Looks like it will either be the 1st of July or the 8th of July or after graduation week. (I am not sure if I can wait that long though. We might have to do a vegas wedding!)

I better not fall in love with a really heavy dress or I will faint from being too hot. Any volunteers for designing me a cooling system?

Reception

The mean people that organise the university halls over the summer have said it is pretty much a definate no about hiring Ranmoor unless we want to wait until the last minute. Boo.

I do however have a cunning plan B.

Dates

OK. I have found out the university term dates for next year and when graduation week is and it looks like there are four possible dates which we could get married on: 17th June, 24th June, 1st July (easy for Andrew to remember) and 8th July.

Now we just have to work out which date is right.

First Post

Hi everyone.

Now that the initial excitement of telling everyone we are getting married is over I am starting to get a bit worried about all the planning and organisation ahead of us.

For example I spent all of tuesday lunchtime looking for appropriate wedding cars after some prompting from my dad at the weekend. (He mentioned that him and my mum got driven to their wedding by my mum's boss but I really don't want to turn up at the church in a red/pink fiat punto!) After an hour of searching only turning up a couple of remote possibilities, I have come to the conclusion that the internet is not a good place to look for wedding associated products, which is a shame because it would make life a lot easier.

Luckily the 'car' problem seems to have been sorted out thanks to Doug's brother (volunteered by Doug) Ishbel and possibly Andrew's aunty and uncle. I just hope all the other elements of the wedding fall into our lap this easily. At least we have a colour scheme.

Next on the 'to do' list is sort the reception and church out and decide on a date.
